Senior Credit Risk Officer Job at Tropical Bank

Job Description
Develop and manage a robust Credit Risk management framework to identify, measure, coordinate, and manage the Bank’s credit risk and ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Review of individual credit risk in accordance with the established Credit Rating System and Credit quality assessment.
- Ensure that classified loans are reported and properly administered in the system of the Bank.
- Determine the capital requirements and provisions for each of the Bank’s products and activities to ensure sufficient provision on the book at all times.
- Set up procedures and guidelines for the establishment of credit committees.
- Draft and develop a Credit Risk Management policy for the Bank and review/update it occasionally to comply with local/international banking laws and regulations.
- Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and counterparties, establish credit limits and risk rating systems, and monitor loan portfolios to identify and address potential credit issues.
- Develop strong relationships with business partners to challenge risks and processes, including escalating issues for remediation, as needed.
- Champion the bank’s ESG risk management process.
- Review provisioning figures before submission to Senior management to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in implementing and maintaining credit risk-related policies, guidelines, and methodologies to strengthen the credit risk management framework of the bank.
- Assess credit risks for submission to the Senior Management and implement appropriate limits and measures to mitigate risks.
- support businesses with credit risk-related/capital adequacy issues to meet stakeholders’ expectations.
- Report to the Management Credit Committee on pertinent risk characteristics and trends for decision-making purposes
- Review and ensure timely submission of Risk reporting to regulators per regulatory requirements and to other units for follow-up and remedial actions
- Any other duty as shall be assigned to you from time to time.
