Job Description
Job Title: Senior Accountant Verification
Organisation: Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA)
Duty Station: Entebbe, Uganda
Job Summary: To evaluate effectiveness and adequacy of implementation of management controls over the various payment activities and to confirm compliance with established policies and procedures.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Verifies payment vouchers for accuracy before these are released for payment. Thoroughly reviews source documents.
Adequately verifies all documents attached to payment invoices i.e legal documents, procurement documents, project completion reports, and reconciliation reports.
Carries out empirical data analysis on payment to ascertain their accuracy.
Carries out site inspection where need be.
Ensures adequate verification of staff claims for accuracy and compliance with UCAA regulations.
Verifies allowances payable in the payroll for accuracy and completeness.
Participates in the financial risk assessment for payment transactions and advises the accounts department accordingly.
Adequately verifies adjusting journal vouchers for accuracy before they are posted to the general ledger.
Adequately verifies staff accountability statements for accuracy and attachment of all necessary documents before these are posted to the general ledger.
Ensures that all documents attached to payments that require recasting and summarizing are accurately done
Carries out any other lawful assignment allocated by the supervisors.
