About the Organisation
The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is an autonomous organization that was established in 1991 as a limited liability not-for-profit joint venture between the Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Defence and Makerere University Medical School (now Makerere College of Health Sciences). The Centre was established to respond to the HIV/AIDS challenge which was at the peak by that time. At its inception, the centre was supported by a grant from the Ugandan Government that was used to renovate the initial building that housed the JCRC offices at Bulange, Mengo and provided the basic equipment to start work.
JCRC pioneered the use of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) in sub-Saharan Africa as early as 1992 through a research project to determine the lowest effective dose of Zidovudine. Thereafter, JCRC set up a network model to increase access to ART treatment in the country. This was a case study for the PEPFAR program culminating into the Centre becoming the first recipient of a 7-year USAID/PEPFAR grant to expand access to ART in Uganda. The Centre has undertaken several landmark research trials that have shaped HIV/AIDS policies/treatment guidelines worldwide.
Over the years, JCRC has continued to expand her services both in terms of services offered and geographical presence across Uganda.

Job Description
JCRC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant-Revenue to oversee all revenue operations within the organization. Responsibilities include recognizing project funds and income from other operations, ensuring accurate recording in the accounting system, and reporting on departmental performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Recognizing all revenue from projects.
Invoicing all customers and ensuring timely collection of revenue.
Preparing monthly revenue reports by income source and customer ageing reports.
Conduct accurate customer and project reconciliations monthly.
Review and update all memoranda of understanding between JCRC and corporate clients.
Ensure timely billing and collection of revenue from RCES.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit processes, providing documentation and explanations as needed.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with an accounting focus.
Partial professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA (Should be at level 3)
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in donor-funded projects.
Strong knowledge of general fund accounting, internal control systems, and grant management.
Proven ability to develop and implement financial procedures and controls to ensure organizational compliance and efficiency.
Competence Requirements:
Advanced Excel proficiency for reporting and analysis.
Familiarity with ERP systems (Advanced knowledge of Navision ERP is advantageous).
Leadership skills for team management.
Effective time management and prioritization abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
