1.0 General Invitation for Applications
Applications are invited from qualified serving Public Officers in Ministries and Local Governments who have been formally appointed and confirmed by their respective Appointing Authorities (National and Local Service Commissions). All applications must be submitted online through the e-recruitment portal by Monday, 3rd November 2025.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Principal Accountant and be responsible for the following:
Verifying the completeness and accuracy of payment requisitions and financial documentation
Supervising periodic reconciliations of ledgers, cashbooks, and URA non-tax revenue statements; offering guidance on necessary actions
Producing regular financial management reports and draft statements for internal use
Preparing draft financial statements for the final accounts
Coordinating the preparation of responses to audit queries and oversight bodies
Preparing requests for funding
Overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Unit
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
Be Ugandan nationals
Hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:
Finance and Accounting
Business Administration (Accounting)
Commerce (Accounting)
OR have a full professional qualification in Accountancy from a recognized institution.
Be members of a recognized accounting professional body.
✔️ Membership in the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) is an added advantage.
Required Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience at the level of Accountant in Government.
