Job Description
The Scholarship Coordinator will play a key role in managing relationships with students, families, schools, local organizations, and government institutions. They will support scholar welfare, mentorship, school holiday programs, and case management. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, coordinating home and school visits, and identifying students in need of additional support. The Coordinator will also help improve the efficiency and impact of SHOFCO’s scholarship initiatives by providing insights and feedback into program design and implementation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Build strong partnerships with public schools, local organizations, and community stakeholders
Coordinate onboarding and continued support of scholarship recipients
Support mentorship and school holiday programming logistics
Liaise with families to strengthen their role in student learning and well-being
Provide case management and identify at-risk students
Conduct home and school visits to monitor scholar progress
Maintain an up-to-date and accurate scholarship database
Collect and organize recruitment data from various sources
Ensure timely submission of documents by scholarship recipients
Escalate psychosocial support cases and partner with SUN Committees for community accountability
Contribute to process improvement, innovation, and program evaluations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Minimum of a Diploma in Education, Social Work, or a related field
Bachelor’s Degree is an added advantage
Certification in counseling is required
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in educational programs or community-based youth support initiatives
Skills and Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Psycho-social counseling ability
Data management and analysis proficiency
Capacity for partnership development and community networking
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional
Adaptability to fast-paced and dynamic environments
Proactive, results-driven, and dedicated to community impact
