Job Description
The Deputy School Leader will serve as the right-hand to the School Principal and be responsible for:
Strategic leadership in alignment with Nova Pioneer’s instructional model.
Managing day-to-day operations, student affairs, staff coaching and development, and parent engagement.
Executing high standards in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and behavior systems.
Leading student health and safety preparedness, clubs, sports, and extra-curricular programming.
Acting as a campus representative to external stakeholders and the broader school network.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead daily operations and execution of Nova Pioneer’s instructional vision.
Build strong school culture and relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Drive enrollment, student retention, and parental engagement strategies.
Organisation and Administration:
Manage schedules, timetables, and effective data tracking systems.
Oversee procurement and budgeting for school activities and instructional needs.
Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
Teammate Development:
Coach and support Deans and teachers in delivering inquiry-based instruction.
Conduct instructional walkthroughs and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
Foster collaborative professional development sessions.
Parent Engagement:
Lead systems for consistent parent communication, feedback, and engagement events.
Address parent concerns and host orientations, open days, and forums.
Student Affairs, Behavior and Culture:
Implement and monitor Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Maintain discipline standards and chair the discipline committee.
Lead house and mentorship programs.
Communication:
Oversee internal and external communication systems (newsletters, WhatsApp, Dojo, etc.).
Maintain effective messaging with staff, parents, and the wider school community.
Operations, Health and Safety:
Conduct operational walkthroughs and manage facilities maintenance.
Lead emergency preparedness and safety committees.
Clubs, Sports and After-School Programming:
Implement engaging after-school and sports programs.
Monitor club performance and student participation.
Events and Trips:
Plan and oversee school events, field trips, and student enrichment activities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s in Education Management/Administration (preferred).
Valid TSC number and certificate.
Minimum 2 years in instructional leadership roles in a rigorous academic setting.
Proven track record of coaching educators and improving performance.
Strong community leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Tech-savvy and capable of working in a dynamic environment.
Strategic thinker with high attention to detail.
Passionate about innovative education and youth transformation.
