Job Description
The Financial Adviser will be responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and servicing clients while providing personalised financial advice and planning. This includes networking to generate leads, conducting financial needs analyses, and creating tailored client portfolios. The adviser will present and recommend financial solutions that align with client goals while ensuring compliance with FAIS and FSCA requirements. The role requires managing client portfolios through regular reviews, delivering value-added services, and maintaining loyalty to the Sanlam brand. Advisers must also document business activities, meet revenue targets, and contribute to the company’s overall growth strategy.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Commit to marketing plans and distribution strategies for business growth.
Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and social/business interactions.
Conduct financial needs analyses and fact-finding to design tailored client solutions.
Provide professional financial planning and advice for a balanced portfolio.
Present financial solutions aligned with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
Review client portfolios annually and identify new opportunities.
Deliver high-quality, ethical, and professional client service.
Monitor client activities (maturities, cancellations, surrenders) and respond accordingly.
Document and report weekly/monthly on business activity, revenue, and client engagements.
Stay updated with industry knowledge, skills, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education and Certifications:
Grade 12 (Matric).
Compliance with FAIS "Fit and Proper" requirements.
Regulatory Examination successfully completed if registered with FSCA for more than 24 months.
Knowledge and Skills:
Financial advice and support.
Production target achievement and budgeting.
Compliance and risk management.
Client relationship management.
Financial planning and recommendations.
