Job Description
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of field sales agents. The incumbent will recruit and onboard new sales agents, conduct regular performance check-ins, and guide the team to exceed key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, the Sales Team Lead will play a pivotal role in managing after-sales services, building rapport with clients and communities, and ensuring strong brand presence and customer satisfaction. The role is field-based and demands strategic planning, leadership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Recruitment and Training
Source, recruit, and onboard goal-oriented sales agents
Conduct training to ensure readiness and performance alignment with KPIs
Team Management
Conduct daily and weekly check-ins with sales agents
Monitor lead generation and selling processes
Coordinate after-sales service to maintain brand loyalty
Sales
Collaborate with the Sales Manager to set clear sales KPIs
Drive the team to meet and exceed sales targets
Build relationships with clients, partners, and community stakeholders
Ensure brand awareness and product understanding in assigned regions
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in the energy or agricultural sector
Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Passion for irrigation and agriculture
Independent decision-making and adaptability in dynamic environments
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Diploma or Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
