Job Description
To drive revenue growth and market expansion for the company in Uganda by acquiring, developing, and managing B2B industrial clients including fabricators, contractors, developers, resellers, agro-processors, and manufacturers. The role combines field sales execution with structured business development and territory ownership.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify and onboard new B2B customers (fabricators, contractors, developers, distributors).
- Map Kampala and upcountry industrial zones to identify potential steel buyers.
- Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline.
- Conduct cold visits, structured follow-ups, and relationship building.
- Develop reseller and fabricator networks in assigned territories
Revenue & Account Management
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets (volume and margin).
- Manage existing accounts to increase order frequency and basket size.
- Negotiate pricing within approved margin guidelines.
- Drive upselling of higher-grade stainless products (304, 316 where applicable).
- Ensure proper quotation follow-up and conversion tracking
Product & Technical Selling
- Understand and confidently explain stainless steel grades (304 vs 201 vs 316).
- Explain tube types (round, square, mirror finish, matte finish).
- Advise customers on correct material for their application (food-grade, decorative, structural).
Credit & Risk Discipline
- Ensure compliance with company credit policy.
- Monitor customer payment cycles.
- Support collections for overdue accounts.
- Work closely with finance to maintain healthy receivables.
Reporting & CRM Discipline
- Maintain daily visit logs and pipeline updates.
- Track quotations issued versus conversions.
- Submit weekly territory performance reports.
- Use CRM/ERP tools for order tracking and forecasting
