Job Description

As a Sales Person, you will be responsible for interacting with customers to understand their needs, recommending appropriate products, managing inventory levels, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Your responsibilities will also include preparing sales estimates and handling customer inquiries or complaints. You will be expected to stay updated with market trends and actively contribute to the company’s growth. The position is full-time and based on-site in Kawanda, Wakiso District.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and ensure a welcoming shopping experience

  • Provide information, guidance, and product recommendations

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels; reorder as necessary

  • Prepare and present estimates, bids, and product drawings

  • Negotiate payment and contract details with clients

  • Coordinate product delivery and installation

  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns professionally

  • Attend industry conferences and workshops to stay current on trends

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing or related field

Experience:

  • 1–2 years in a sales role, preferably in the hardware or construction sector

Skills and Competencies:

  • Active Listening and Social Perceptiveness

  • Critical Thinking and Coordination

  • Effective Writing and Communication

  • Proficiency in IFRIS and Accounting Software

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems

  • Fluent in English and Luganda

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities

Preferred:

  • Experience in retail sales and customer service

  • Sales or marketing certifications
