Job Description
The Sales Director will formulate and implement sales strategies across assigned markets and product lines to meet revenue goals. This role involves identifying market opportunities, coaching and developing sales talent, managing sales administration, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Sales Director will also oversee operational plans, pricing strategies, warehouse operations, and collaborate closely with the African sales team on business planning.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Recruit, coach, and develop sales and organizational talent in the region.
Provide leadership and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
Plan, direct, and monitor sales activities, with monthly performance reviews.
Manage sales administration, including customer service, distribution, credit collections, and invoicing.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships to support departmental and organizational goals.
Monitor compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Make operational decisions to optimize department performance.
Prepare and discuss annual business plans with the African sales team.
Establish and adjust pricing strategies based on market factors such as costs, competition, supply, and demand.
Oversee warehouse operations to ensure product supply meets demand efficiently.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Health Sciences plus an additional business-related qualification.
5 to 7 years of sales and business development experience in the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) or Medical Devices industry.
At least 3 years of leadership/people management experience.
Experience working with the Ministry of Health and public health programs.
Strong project management, communication, influencing, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
Proficiency in report writing, PowerPoint, and business-related computer applications.
Language proficiency in English and relevant local languages.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to engage external and internal customers and partners effectively.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to navigate cultural and language barriers to deliver effective solutions.
Experience conducting and managing audits and inspections.
