The School of Law is seeking to recruit 4 Research Assistants who are self- motivated, hardworking and diligent in their work. Successful applicants will be deployed to the different departments to support ongoing research by academic staff.

Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews to gather information on existing research studies, theories, and methodologies relevant to the research project. Summarize key findings and identify gaps in knowledge for further investigation.
Data Collection: Assist with data collection activities, which may involve administering surveys, conducting interviews, or collecting data from archival sources. Ensure that data collection methods are standardized and follow ethical guidelines.
Data Entry and Management: Enter collected data into databases or spreadsheets accurately and efficiently. Organize and maintain datasets, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and security.
Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing research data using statistical software or qualitative analysis techniques. Collaborate with senior researchers or analysts to interpret findings and draw conclusions based on data analysis.
Research Design: Contribute to the development of research designs, methodologies, and protocols. Help to refine research questions, hypotheses, and sampling strategies to ensure the validity and reliability of the study.
Research Ethics: Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations governing research involving human subjects or sensitive data. Obtain informed consent from participants, maintain confidentiality, and address any ethical concerns that arise during the research process.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities, including protocols, procedures, and data collection instruments. Document any deviations from the research plan and report them to the research team.
Literature Citation: Assist in the preparation of research manuscripts, reports, or presentations by formatting citations, references, and bibliographies according to academic or institutional guidelines.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including senior researchers, faculty members, or graduate students, to coordinate research activities and achieve project objectives. Communicate effectively and contribute ideas to the research team.
Project Management: Manage research project timelines, deadlines, and milestones to ensure that deliverables are completed on schedule. Coordinate logistics for research activities, such as scheduling participant appointments or arranging data collection tools.
Quality Assurance: Assist in quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of research findings. Perform data checks, validation checks, and data cleaning procedures to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies.
Report Writing: Contribute to the writing of research reports, manuscripts, or presentations by drafting sections of the document, summarizing findings, and interpreting results. Review and edit written content for clarity, coherence, and adherence to research objectives.
Professional Development: Stay updated on developments in the field of research methodology, data analysis techniques, and relevant literature. Participate in training workshops, seminars, or conferences to enhance research skills and knowledge.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the research team, such as scheduling meetings, arranging travel, ordering supplies, or maintaining project budgets. Assist with grant applications, IRB submissions, or regulatory approvals as needed.
Communication: Communicate research findings, progress updates, and challenges to stakeholders, collaborators, or funding agencies. Present research findings at conferences, seminars, or professional meetings and respond to inquiries from the public or media.

Must be a registered student on our LLB Programme in second or third year
Must not be above 28 years
Must have a CGPA of 3.8 and above
Should not have any retake
Honorarium
A modest honorarium will be paid on a monthly basis. No other benefits accrue to the successful candidate.
Duration of assignment
Successful Applicants will be appointed for an initial period of six months.
