Role Summary
Mukwano Industries is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to oversee all sales operations within the assigned region. This role is crucial in safeguarding company interests, upholding brand reputation, and driving sales performance to meet and exceed regional targets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and manage regional operations, ensuring consistent alignment with company goals and brand standards.
Set and monitor sales targets for both company sales officers and channel partners (CPs), aligned with overall regional objectives.
Analyze sales performance across product groups and SKUs; recommend and implement trade promotions to boost volume.
Develop and execute sales strategies leveraging available logistics to surpass annual regional targets.
Monitor both primary and secondary market performance, ensuring alignment with sales support initiatives.
Optimize distribution routes and strategies to enhance product visibility and accessibility across secondary markets.
Build and maintain a robust CP distribution network to ensure product availability and achieve sales objectives.
Drive regional sales through CP sales teams to meet set targets.
Conduct regular market visits to assess route coverage, identify competitor activities, and explore new sales opportunities.
Monitor competitor strategies and advise on countermeasures to protect and grow market share.
Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities for all CPs within the region; promote cost-efficiency and long-term business sustainability.
Ensure CPs meet operational standards and compliance requirements.
Cultivate strong relationships with key customers across all sales channels.
Mentor and motivate both internal and CP sales teams to maximize productivity and performance.
Promote and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Head – Domestic.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Proven success in people management or commercial roles within the consumer goods industry.
Demonstrated record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive sales environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of P&L management.
Excellent sales planning and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and execute tasks efficiently.
Effective communication skills—both written and verbal.
Professional demeanor and a customer-centric mindset.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage routine and non-routine matters.
Decisiveness and sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
