Job Description
The Quantity Surveyor will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of construction and real estate projects in Abuja and Enugu. This includes preparing bills of quantities (BOQs), managing budgets, drafting and administering contracts, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring all projects achieve value for money while maintaining quality and compliance. The role also involves tendering, procurement, cost control, financial reporting, and project close-out documentation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare initial cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.
Conduct feasibility studies and advise on cost implications of design and construction.
Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with contractors and suppliers.
Evaluate contractor claims, variations, and interim payments.
Monitor material usage and ensure cost control during procurement.
Track and monitor project costs to prevent overruns.
Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks.
Prepare and submit periodic cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
Manage final accounts and project close-out documentation.
Ensure compliance with budgetary and contractual requirements.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
3–5 years’ experience in real estate or construction projects.
Strong numerical and analytical ability.
Knowledge of local building regulations and pricing trends.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy).
Membership with NIQS (Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) is an added advantage.
