About the Organisation

The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a Ugandan not-for-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development. Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an independently governed institute within the College of Health Sciences at Makerere University and has the mission “To strengthen health systems in Africa, with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development.” IDI has operations across Uganda as well as in a number of other African countries and has a staffing of over 1,000 managing multiple projects in research, clinical services, public health and training.

Job Description

Job Title:  Quality Assurance/Quality Control Nurse (Fresher Diploma Jobs)

Organisation: Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI)

Duty Station: Kalangala, Uganda

Reports to: Project Coordinator


Job Summary:

  • Performs data cleaning activities to eliminate duplicate records and resolve inconsistencies.

  • Develops and maintains standardized procedures for data cleaning and validation

  • Ensures data accuracy and consistency of the entered data.

  • Identifies and corrects data discrepancies, errors, and outliers.

  • Implements data validation checks and rules to identify potential data entry errors.

  • Collaborates with data entry personnel to resolve data quality issues.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs data cleaning activities to eliminate duplicate records and resolve inconsistencies.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Registered nurse with valid practicing license.

  • Training in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection with certificates

  • Training in data QA/QC is an asset.

  • Bachelors’ degree or Diploma in Nursing
