Job Description
Responsible for promoting financial Stewardship, accountability, reliability and accuracy of Contract Financial reports, to improve and implement financial policies and to ensure effective resource acquisition, utilization and safeguarding of Project funds and assets
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Management of financial operations for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor and Government of Uganda financial regulations.
- Assist in the Preparation and monitoring of RAP budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring funds are spent efficiently on respective projects.
- Preparing compensation and resettlement payments to Project Affected Persons (PAPs) with due care, transparency and accountability in line with
- Assist in the Preparation of Financial Statements for various projects in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Assist in the generation of financial input to quarterly reports for management, government, and development partners.
- Reconciliation of advance, retention, staff, contractors and supplier’s ledgers and ensuring timely retirement of accountable advances.
- Monitoring and maintaining Asset and Risk Registers for various projects to ensure proper accountability for all project’s assets and risk management.
- Preparation of payments to suppliers, contractors, consultants and staff ensuring that the relevant laws, regulations and statutory obligations are complied with.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for various project accounts.
- Coordination with auditors during external and internal audits, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and follow up on implementation of recommended management action plans.
- Liaising with RAP teams in ensuring reconciliation of PAP registers to align with financial reports.
- Assisting the procurement team with financial input during the procurement process and monitoring of bank guarantees.
