Job Description
Reporting directly to senior management, the Project Representative will coordinate daily project activities, oversee team operations, and ensure effective communication with the company and stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing and implementing project management and QHSE plans, organizing project teams, conducting risk assessments, monitoring schedules, controlling quality, and issuing project management documents. The role also involves evaluating and recommending personnel actions, managing foreign affairs, and ensuring compliance with international codes and standards. The Project Representative will oversee all stages of the project lifecycle—initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring, and closure—while ensuring risk mitigation and delivery of project objectives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Act as the authorized representative of the Project Manager in their absence.
Coordinate and communicate with the client, PAU, and local government authorities.
Ensure effective daily management and operation of the project team.
Issue project management documents authorized by the employer.
Build, manage, and assess the performance of the project team; recommend appointments, removals, and post-project evaluations.
Oversee planning and execution of all project phases (initiation to closure).
Organize and implement project implementation plans.
Identify, assess, and manage risks at each stage and major operation.
Monitor and control project schedule, costs, and quality; make timely decisions as required.
Develop and implement QHSE plans, including control documents.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Petroleum/Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics.
PMP certification or equivalent is required.
5–7 years’ project management experience, including at least 3 in international projects.
Experience in construction management of at least 2 EPC projects.
Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.).
Demonstrated experience with equipment installation in the petrochemical industry, particularly involving safety loads.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to calculate and assess technical risks.
