Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for partner management, project planning and implementation, budget and resource management, monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting (MEAL), effective management of project officers and interns, networking, visibility, and donor recognition. The role demands leadership, partnership development, compliance monitoring, budget oversight, and contribution to strategic goals of World Vision and the donor.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead partner management, ensuring compliance and fostering effective relationships.
Oversee project planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring activities align with logframes and donor requirements.
Manage project budgets, ensuring effective financial stewardship, tracking expenditures, and supporting audits.
Spearhead the development and execution of the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) system.
Supervise and support project officers and interns, ensuring high performance and integrity.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, partners, and stakeholders.
Represent World Vision at external meetings, workshops, and forums to enhance visibility and donor relations.
Promote documentation, sharing of best practices, and lessons learned.
Maintain tight oversight of project activities to achieve high-quality results and risk management.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Professional Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management/coordination of donor-funded projects, preferably with INGOs.
Experience in inclusive programming such as GESI, financial inclusion, TVET, private sector engagement, advocacy, and human rights approaches.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Rural Development, Community Development, Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
Excellent communication, coordination, planning, and report-writing skills.
Experience in partnership and consortium management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Experience working with international donors and government institutions.
High-level proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work in a multicultural team and under tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel frequently to field sites.
