Alive Medical Services (AMS) has been a leading organization in Uganda's response to HIV/AIDS and SRHR for over 15 years. Located in Namuwongo, a suburb of Kampala, it operates round-the-clock, seven days a week, saving lives and offering all treatments to clients without charge and in a non-discriminatory manner. Every year, AMS supports approximately 218,000 vulnerable and marginalized clients in Kampala, Mukono, Wakiso, and beyond with comprehensive and differentiated high quality HIV/AIDS/SRHR prevention, care, treatment, and support that is delivered with compassion and dignity and upholds the highest standards.
AMS provides high-quality HIV/AIDS/SRHR care along with socioeconomic empowerment in a high-volume ART clinic with a replicable business strategy. More than 230,000 people have been tested for HIV and the organization has assisted more than 18,000 persons while serving over 1,300,000 people in Uganda. 10% of those who have HIV and are receiving care are children and young people.

Plan and coordinate activities, forums, meetings, training, and other events related to the project.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible for operations, administrative support, meetings, events, coordination and support, programmatic and knowledge management support, contributing to the success of the Project initiative to improve beneficiary outcomes in Uganda. He/she will work with the ED, other Directors, and Program managers. Project Officers and other team members in the development of the program to ensure expanded access and increased use of quality, inclusive and integrated services among vulnerable populations.
The project coordinator will oversee the day-to-day delivery of the program, ensuring that all project outcomes are achieved to ensure expanded access and increased use of quality, inclusive and integrated HIV services among vulnerable and target population. The project coordinator will provide key program and technical support to the project
He/She will develop, review and revise project work plans, and manage overall budgets in consultation with ED and other stakeholders.
Plan and coordinate activities, forums, meetings, training, and other events related to the project.
Prepare internal and external reports about the project. Ensure proper recording and management of information for project indicators and other monitoring and evaluation tools as required.
Monitor adherence to funder agreement of activities and programmatic work. Ensure time bound conditions are reflected by date, working with partners as appropriate to ensure time constraints are met.
Ensure day to day risk is escalated and managed as planned.
Organize partners monitoring and support visits and provide reports accordingly.
Review IPs quarterly report and provide support or follow up as need be.
Coordinate on all partners check calls.
Regularly support IPs to collect and document case studies from the project and share with AMS SMT
Coordinate on developing donor reports and work with AMS SMT to provide timely and adequate support to IPs in their respective fields.
Support individual Ips develop costed workplans each project year in conjunction with the Programs manager.
Ensure in the country consultants and external provides adhere to their contracts.
Support, communication and capacity building including providing technical support on service interventions to partners.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a master’s degree in public health, Project Management or related field.
A minimum of five years working experience in Implementing programmes relating vulnerable populations, including those living with HIV, AGYW etc.
Demonstrable skills and experience in project management (human and financial)
Excellent skills for networking and collaboration at local and international levels
Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
Demonstrable skills and competences of working with diverse multidisciplinary teams.
High integrity, honesty and intrinsic motivation for sustainable HIV/SRHR in Uganda
Experience in interdisciplinary development projects, preferably also with international staff Experience in organizing stakeholders’ meetings and workshops at district and local levels.
Experience of working in an international and/or multicultural environment, with NGO experience an advantage.
Able to speak different Ugandan languages.
