Job Description
The Program Manager – Inclusive Education will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive, multi-year program to enhance the quality of education in six Special School Units for children with mental disabilities. The role requires strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, and field leadership, working closely with local communities, school administrators, and government bodies. The successful candidate will ensure effective implementation, foster partnerships, and drive long-term impact through improved learning environments and inclusive practices. This is a rural-based role requiring field presence, hands-on engagement, and the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of the inclusive education quality improvement program
Collaborate with six Special School Units, local government, and community stakeholders
Oversee program implementation, ensuring timely delivery and measurable impact
Develop strategies and frameworks for inclusive education best practices
Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage day-to-day project operations
Monitor program performance, conduct evaluations, and report on progress
Foster partnerships with education and disability sector stakeholders
Advocate for inclusive education at local and sub-county levels
Ensure effective communication, resource management, and community involvement
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Needs Education, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field
Proven experience managing complex projects in education or development sectors
Demonstrated knowledge or experience in inclusive or special needs education
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
Willingness to work and live in a rural setting
Passion for inclusion and making a difference in children’s lives
