Job Description
The Learning Experience Design Specialist will play a key role in the Out-of-School Youth (OoSY) Skill Up product, ensuring the learning journey is effective, engaging, and tailored to the real-world needs of underserved youth. Responsibilities include conducting user research, designing curriculum and assessments, prototyping and testing new solutions, creating motivation strategies, and delivering training for trainers. This role is ideal for a design-focused education expert who is committed to youth empowerment and skilled at transforming learning into measurable impact.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Identify and analyze learning experience challenges through research and performance data
Conduct user research and field observations to understand learner needs
Design learning journey maps and instructional strategies aligned with product goals
Develop high-quality, scalable curricula, skills sessions, and feedback mechanisms
Incorporate practical, real-world application into all learning materials
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery and alignment of materials
Design and deliver Training of Trainers (ToT) programs
Apply behavioral change theories and feedback to improve learner engagement
Benchmark global best practices in learning design
Develop and apply tools to motivate youth and improve outcomes
Ensure continuous improvement of content based on feedback and results
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Adult Education, Social Science, or related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in learning experience design, instructional design, or human-centered design
Proven expertise in designing youth or adult education content, especially for marginalized learners
Strong research skills in both qualitative and quantitative methods
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High computer literacy (Google Docs, Spreadsheets, etc.)
Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about youth development
