Job Description
The Payable Accountant will handle the timely and accurate processing of local and foreign vendor invoices, booking of payments related to customs duties and raw materials, and ensure ledger reconciliation and monthly financial closings. The role involves collaborating with the treasury team, verifying expenses against budgets, posting month-end journals, providing audit documentation, and preparing regular reports on accounts payable status and discrepancies.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Book local and foreign invoices using SAP
Record advance payment requests for customs duties and clearing charges
Liaise with treasury team on vendor payment runs and queries
Verify, classify, and record accounts payable transactions
Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies
Generate weekly/monthly accounts payable status reports
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments, and amortizations
Reconcile general ledger balances including GRNI and vendor advance payments
Support external and internal audits with documentation

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Good knowledge of accounting procedures, policies, and fiscal recordkeeping
Strong understanding of coding, verifying, balancing, and reconciling accounting records
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel is an advantage
Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
