Job Description
This position is responsible for the supervision of outside plant (OSP) fibre optic networks, including FTTx and P2P deployments, fibre termination, testing, and troubleshooting. The OSP Supervisor will ensure effective maintenance of fibre and civil works, process regulatory permits, and deliver accurate documentation of network elements. The role also involves engaging with local authorities, customers, vendors, and internal teams to achieve seamless project execution while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise maintenance and management of metro and long-distance fibre optic networks.
Oversee FTTx and/or P2P fibre deployment, including fibre splicing, termination, and testing.
Conduct fibre link analysis using OTDR, LSPM, and VFL tools.
Ensure accurate documentation of network elements, splice configurations, and “As-Is” network status.
Supervise civil works projects, ensuring quality control and compliance with standards.
Manage processing of Right of Way (ROW) licenses with local and state regulatory agencies.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety legislation and best practices in telecom operations.
Utilize project management tools (Microsoft Project, Visio, AutoCAD, GIS) for planning and reporting.
Coordinate effectively with customers, vendors, team members, and local authorities.
Resolve technical and operational issues quickly using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in telecommunications, specifically in fibre network deployments and OSP maintenance.
Proven track record in fibre optic infrastructure management.
Knowledge of telecom industry best practices and technical standards.
Proficiency in fibre tools (fusion splicers, OTDR, LSPM, VFLs).
Strong knowledge of civil works supervision and regulatory planning applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Microsoft Project.
Experience with Visio, AutoCAD, or GIS tools (desired).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Nigerian Health & Safety regulations and ROW licensing processes.
