Job Description
Operations Officer – Client Servicing
Company: Old Mutual Uganda
Location: Uganda
Role Purpose:
As a key member of the financial management team, the Operations Officer – Client Servicing is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of operational services to clients. The role focuses on transaction processing, client engagement, compliance, and operational efficiency to support the investment operations of the organization.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Transaction Processing
Execute and settle creation and liquidation orders
Manage client data and ensure accurate investment documentation
2. Fund Reconciliations
Perform daily fund balance reconciliations to ensure accuracy
3. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and internal controls
Implement AML, KYC, and sanctions compliance procedures
Escalate any unusual or suspicious activity to the Risk & Compliance Office
4. Operational Oversight
Oversee daily operational workflows
Coordinate with custodians and resolve operational issues
5. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare operational performance reports
Analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
6. Client Relationship Management
Respond to client queries and deliver timely support
Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders
7. Record Keeping & Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date investment records and documentation
8. Process Optimization
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operations
Drive improvements in system utilization and workflow efficiency
9. Systems Management
Update and maintain the operations system
Identify gaps and carry out system-based reconciliations
10. Compliance Execution
Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), ongoing and enhanced due diligence
Maintain high data quality and monitor for AML or compliance breaches
11. Other Duties
Perform any other tasks assigned as required by business needs
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance (Required)
