The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a small trading company with a focus on cross-border supply chain activities. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Supply Chain Management: - Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. - Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across borders.
Logistics Coordination: - Manage logistics operations, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and documentation. - Coordinate with shipping companies, customs agents, and other service providers to ensure smooth operations.
Supplier Relationship Management: - Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders. - Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms to ensure favorable agreements.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: - Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, import/export laws, and customs requirements. - Stay updated on changes in trade policies and implement necessary adjustments.
Inventory Management: - Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize holding costs. - Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
Operational Efficiency: - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular operational reports.
Team Management: - Lead and supervise the operations team, providing guidance, training, and support. - Conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work environment.
Risk Management: - Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. - Ensure business continuity plans are in place for operational disruptions.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in operations management, preferably within a trading company or similar industry.
Strong knowledge of cross-border supply chain processes and international trade regulations.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in operations management, supply chain logistics and customs operations.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Team leadership
