Job Description

The role entails performing audits, documenting risks and controls, reviewing efficiency in resource use, preparing audit reports, and following up on recommendations. Officers will ensure compliance with audit standards and strengthen the bank’s control environment.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify and document risks and controls in assigned areas.

  • Perform process walkthroughs and draft audit procedures.

  • Develop audit work programs and test controls.

  • Review effectiveness, efficiency, and economy in operations.

  • Prepare draft audit reports and working papers.

  • Conduct follow-up of audit recommendations.

  • Participate in spot checks of cash-holding areas.

  • Provide advisory on governance and internal controls.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or Statistics (First/Second Class Upper).

  • Full professional qualification: CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or FCPA.

  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Membership of IIA preferred.

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in auditing/accounting.

  • Age: 30–37 years.

  • Skills: audit standards knowledge, analytical skills, report writing, integrity, independence, teamwork, emotional intelligence.
