Job Description
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries invites applications from qualified and organized individuals to fill the position of Office Administrator. The successful candidate will provide administrative, clerical, and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning of the office. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate office activities in a busy public sector environment.
Project Name: Uganda Climate-Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative and secretarial support to the department or unit
- Manage office correspondence, including receiving, recording, filing, and dispatching documents
- Maintain organized and up-to-date physical and electronic filing systems
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, and official schedules
- Prepare routine reports, letters, minutes, and official documents
- Manage office supplies, inventory, and requisitions
- Receive and guide visitors, calls, and inquiries in a professional manner
- Support procurement, payment processing, and record-keeping activities
- Ensure compliance with government administrative procedures and office protocols
- Assist in coordinating departmental activities and follow up on assigned actions
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
