Job Description
The overall purpose is to share study information, consent participants, give health education talks, conduct interviews, data collection; and obtain study specimens from participants recruited into the study. The position may also be required to participate in provision of medical care to participants’ dependent on the study protocol and make participant refer where necessary.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct informed consent, screening for study eligibility, enrolment, and follow up visits;
- Collect venous fasting blood samples using grey top fluoride/oxalate tubes; ensure cold chain and same day lab dispatch;
- Perform anthropometrics: height at enrolment; weight and BP every visit; waist circumference, hip circumference per schedule;
- Educate participants on medication use, safety signs, and adherence;
- Monitor, document, and report AEs/SAEs/AESIs within protocol timelines;
- Support pharmacy and lab coordination, including drug accountability and sample tracking;
- Complete high quality source notes and EDC entries; respond to data queries;
- Maintain equipment calibration logs and ensure SOP compliance;
- Contribute to participant retention and follow up tracing; and,
- Attend and give presentations in CMEs.
