Job Vacancy: Nursing In-Charge

Join Our Team!
Meditest Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing In-Charge to lead and manage the nursing department. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, enhancing patient care, and ensuring efficient departmental functioning.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise patient care delivery and ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols
Develop and manage staff work schedules and coordinate departmental meetings
Make personnel decisions including recruitment, training, and performance management
Address care delivery gaps and support quality improvement initiatives
Oversee staff training, continuous medical education (CMEs), and professional development
Ensure proper resource management and documentation in line with hospital policies
Support implementation of key institutional initiatives such as quality management systems (QMS), audits, risk management, and compliance
Foster a supportive and disciplined work environment within the nursing team
Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to enhance patient outcomes
Apply and promote modern nursing practices and care models
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution (preferred)
Valid registration and practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)
At least 3 years of progressive nursing experience, with 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Additional professional training in leadership or management is an added advantage
Key Competencies:
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Commitment to continuous improvement and patient-centered care
Familiarity with quality assurance, risk management, and clinical governance principles
