Job Description
Reporting to the Country Operations Manager and CEO, the M&E Manager will lead the development and execution of robust M&E systems to ensure data-driven decision-making across the organization. This includes creating logframes, performance indicators, and data collection tools; analyzing program results; compiling stakeholder reports; and documenting success stories. The manager will work cross-functionally with finance, tech, program, and people teams to ensure consistent quality assurance in data collection and usage. The role also entails converting quantitative results and qualitative narratives into compelling communications for donors, partners, and internal learning.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
M&E Framework Design & Implementation
Develop and update monitoring and evaluation frameworks, logframes, and performance metrics.
Align M&E systems with donor, organizational, and sectoral requirements.
Create practical systems for tracking outcomes and gathering operational feedback.
Data Collection & Quality Assurance
Oversee field data collection using digital platforms.
Train teams and partners on data protocols.
Conduct audits and spot checks for data integrity.
Performance Analysis & Strategic Reporting
Analyze program data and generate dashboards.
Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Provide strategic insights to improve performance and fundraising.
Storytelling & Case Study Development
Collect and document field-based stories, testimonials, and visuals.
Collaborate on producing content like case studies, infographics, and social media narratives.
Prepare compelling presentations for donors and partners.
Learning & Adaptive Management
Facilitate team learning sessions and internal reviews.
Capture and document lessons learned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Health, Project Management, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in M&E or impact evaluation.
Preferably worked in livestock, agriculture, or health-related sectors.
Technical Skills & Tools:
Expertise in M&E system design and data quality management.
Proficiency in digital data tools (ODK, KoboToolbox), data analysis software (Excel, SPSS, STATA), and dashboard/reporting platforms.
Excellent storytelling and writing abilities for donor and stakeholder communications.
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and engaging content.
