Nilezilla Ltd is a private company limited by shares located in Yumbe District, West Nile sub-region, Uganda. Its main objective is to promote the use of locally available fruits in the production of high quality value added products for local, regional and international markets. Currently, the company has established a mango processing factory in Lodonga sub-country, Yumbe District and will start commercial production in May 2024.

  • Calibration and Testing: Calibrate mechanical instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Perform testing procedures to verify performance and compliance with specifications.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance, repair, and installation tasks. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.

  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications. Document procedures, observations, and findings for future reference and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to plan and prioritize work assignments. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of issues.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements in mechanical systems and maintenance practices. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance reliability and performance.

  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to junior technicians or apprentices. Share knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise to facilitate skill development and professional growth.

  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or emergencies to minimize downtime and production losses. Implement temporary fixes or workarounds as necessary while prioritizing safety.

  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards related to mechanical operations and waste management. Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with legal requirements.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables needed for mechanical maintenance activities. Requisition supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.

  • At least three years' experience in a similar position

  • Mechanical Technician shall report to the Process/Mechanical Engineer
