i. Responsible for accurate measurements, surveys, and data collection throughout the construction process.
ii. Implements precise measurement techniques, monitoring project progress, and verifying compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
iii. Provide reliable data for decision-making, quality control, and project evaluation to successfully complete the road construction project.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Surveying and Measurement:
Conduct precise surveys and measurements of the construction site, including topography, alignment, and dimensions.
Use advanced measurement equipment such as total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and drones to collect accurate data.
2. Quality Control:
Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Identify discrepancies and deviations from plans, reporting them to project managers and relevant stakeholders.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyse measurement data and present comprehensive reports on project progress and quality.
Ensure that all measurement records are accurately documented for future reference and auditing.
4. Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with the design team, project managers, and construction personnel to ensure seamless data integration and information exchange.
Communicate measurement findings to relevant stakeholders and address any related concerns.
5. Instrument Calibration and Maintenance:
Calibrate and maintain measurement instruments regularly to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
Keep track of equipment performance and troubleshoot any technical issues.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and protocols during measurement activities.
Identify potential safety hazards related to measurement operations and implement necessary precautions.
7. Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement quality measurement procedures to ensure that it meets engineering standards and project specifications.
Monitor measurement processes to detect any deviations from required standard levels.
8. Technical Specifications:
Prepare detailedmeasurement specifications to be used in the road construction project.
9. Performance Analysis:
Analyse material performance data to assess their suitability and durability for the specific road construction project.
Identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
10. Measurement Research and Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in road construction measurement technologies.
Research and recommend innovative mmeasurement tools that enhance project alignment.
11. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all project measurement comply with project / industry standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits to verify measurement quality assurance and consistency.
12. Collaboration and Communication:
Facilitate communication among project team members and external stakeholders by ensuring the timely measurements.
Provide measurement dimensions to project stakeholders, including consultants’ and contractors.
13. Reporting:
Generate regular reports on measurement status, compliance, and any outstanding issues.
Provide progress updates to project managers and other relevant stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Measurement Accuracy: Assess the accuracy and precision of survey data and measurements.
Compliance Verification: Monitor the percentage of construction activities in compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
Data Reporting Timeliness: Measure the time taken to analyse and report measurement data.
Instrument Performance: Evaluate the reliability and functionality of measurement equipment.
Quality Control Findings: Monitor the number of discrepancies and deviations identified during quality control inspections.
Project Measurement Cost: Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of measurement equipment used in the construction process.
Compliance Adherence: Monitor adherence to contractual requirements and regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Satisfaction: Gather feedback from project team members and external stakeholders on measurement management processes.

Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve measurement-related issues promptly.
Technical Aptitude: Comfortable operating and troubleshooting measurement equipment and software.
Health and Safety Consciousness: Knowledgeable in safety protocols and practices in a construction environment.
Quality Control: Knowledgeable in quality assurance procedures and standards for construction measurements.
Technical Documentation: Able to prepare accurate and comprehensive technical measurement specifications and reports.
Environmental Awareness: Understand the environmental impact of construction and consider sustainability factors.
Project Management: Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively within the project team.
Technical Knowledge / Construction Industry: In-depth understanding of road construction processes, methodologies, and measurements. Familiarity with road construction processes, terminology, and related technical documentation.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
Computer Proficiency: Proficient in materials management software and office productivity tools.
Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
Health and Safety Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards in the road construction industry.
Working experience: Possession 8 years of leadership working experience of which 3 years should have been obtained in the equivalent capacity.
