The Materials Technician is responsible for performing material management activities, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company policies. The role involves managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials while maintaining up-to-date records within the company’s material management systems.

  • Perform material management tasks, including offloading, receiving, counting, picking, packing, and issuing materials with high attention to detail.

  • Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are received for all Dangerous Goods.

  • Update and maintain accurate documentation, including the Material Receiving Checklist (MRCL) and Goods Receiving Note (GRN).

  • Record transactions in the Smart Materials management system.

  • Follow all company material management procedures and policies to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Participate actively in safety programs and training sessions, adhering to McDermott’s safety standards.

  • Apply company-established material management and scientific procedures to resolve operational challenges.

  • Education: Associate’s Degree/Foundation in a relevant discipline or equivalent (HSD/GED/IGCSE) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience: 0–3 years in material management or a related field.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
