About the Organisation
First incorporated as a private limited company in 1967 as Housing Finance Company Uganda Limited, carrying out business as a non-banking credit institution providing mortgage finance and also accepting savings deposits from the public. We became licensed and regulated by Bank of Uganda as a commercial Bank in 2007 to carry on business of a banking under the Financial Institutions Act and changed into a public limited liability company known as Housing Finance Bank Limited.

Job Description
This position is responsible for growing Housing Finance Bank’s brand equity through identifying, formulating, coordinating, and implementation of Marketing and communication activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Result Areas
Design and execute comprehensive Marketing Communications and PR strategies in line with the Bank’s business objectives in order to augment the Bank’s market position.
Plan, coordinate and participate in Housing Finance Bank’s Public Relations, promotional activities such as product launches, trade fairs/exhibitions, road shows, sustainability initiatives designed to strengthen the Bank’s brand appeal.
Draft and manage the annual marketing budget to ensure effective, efficient and successful execution of advertising campaigns, product promotions and all brand initiatives.
Provide technical support to departments in identifying marketing and product training needs in line with the Bank’s marketing programs and strategy.
Design and execute the Bank’s Environmental Social and Governance initiatives / Sustainability strategy and review donations and sponsorship proposal requests in line with the Bank’s Corporate Social Investment guidelines.
Manage brand studies and consumer research on products and services and recommend changes on the Bank’s strategies based on results and findings.
Develop and project a reputable public image for the Bank’s brand to reflect its vision, strategic direction and enhance its competitive positioning.
Ensure the ambience and branding of the branches, agents in line with the Bank’s vision with frequent brand audits for quality standardization.
Develop and establish beneficial relationships with media houses, advertising and research agencies etc., in support of the Bank’s corporate image and reputation.
Stay abreast of industry and corporate developments, events and issues in support of the Bank’s corporate image and responsibilities
Manage and update the Banks website and intranet.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.

Qualifications and Competencies
Person Specifications
Education & Training
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or any related field.
Professional Marketing qualification like CIM is essential
Relevant practical training in Brand enhancement, Corporate Communications, PR & Sustainability in the financial services sector is essential.
Possession of banking experience or master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage
Skills & Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing with a bias to Brand, Public Relations, Digital and Corporate Communications and Media Management.
Must have good creative, verbal and written communication skills with good organizational and administrative skills
Ability to translate strategy into achievable performance objectives
Good knowledge of modern practices in marketing and communications
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Business Behaviours
The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is essential.
Knowledge of the Bank’s Policies, Processes and Procedures relating to products and Brand management.
Knowledge of the Bank’s business model, its strategy and all of its products and services.
Good sense of customer behaviour and solid grasp and interpretation of the market environment.
Ability to build sustainable working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries.
Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model of Housing Finance Bank’s values
Good presentation and communication skills
