Lubricants Sales Engineer – Uganda

Main Objective
The Lubricants Sales Engineer will be responsible for monitoring worksite safety, ensuring contractor compliance, and coordinating Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) training programs across company sites. The role also supports the implementation of MAESTRO standards and promotes a strong safety culture among staff, contractors, and network partners.

How to Apply
Coordinate contractor safety programs, including compliance checks and training initiatives such as ICC.
Conduct HSE pre-qualification assessments for new contractors.
Ensure adherence to work permit processes through regular audits and training sessions.
Monitor safety performance through initiatives like Our Lives First, including safety tours and remote surveillance.
Manage the Contractor Owner Program—set schedules, track progress, maintain reports, and ensure timely execution of action plans.
Lead investigations for all major incidents and high-potential events (HIPOs) using Cause Tree Analysis and develop actionable corrective measures.
Conduct Operational Readiness or Pre-Delivery Inspections for new or upgraded sites (stations, GT sites) before operations commence.
Participate in project handovers and oversee risk assessments, prevention plans, job safety analyses, and work permits.
Perform annual HSE evaluations for all contractors working with the company.
Deliver HSEQ training programs for staff, contractors, and retail network personnel nationwide in coordination with the RTO, ensuring proper documentation.
Conduct Safety Pass induction programs for all new employees.
Implement self-assessment programs at depots and departments to measure compliance with One MAESTRO Standards.
Ensure adherence to the Safety Critical Barrier Program and report any identified gaps.
Coordinate monthly safety reporting using RAMSES, SRT, and Safety+ tools.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in HSEQ management systems, preferably within the petroleum or logistics industry.
Background in auditing, terminal/depot operations, logistics, safety supervision, and contractor management is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Confident public speaker with strong presentation skills.
Innovative and conceptually strong thinker.
Proficient in digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (advanced level preferred).
