Job Description
The Logistics Manager is tasked with the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of end-to-end logistics supporting multiple construction and real estate projects. The role involves managing transportation, vendor relationships, fleet operations, and warehouse staff while ensuring cost optimization, efficiency, and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Additionally, the manager will implement technology solutions for route optimization and logistics visibility, prepare budgets, and track key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan and manage the transportation and delivery of construction materials, equipment, and supplies across multiple sites.
Collaborate with procurement, project managers, and contractors to align logistics with construction schedules.
Oversee fleet operations including routing, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and fuel management.
Ensure timely deliveries to avoid project delays while controlling logistics costs.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory movement, fleet utilization, and vendor contracts.
Build and sustain vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality and accountability.
Enforce strict compliance with HSE regulations during all logistics activities.
Track and analyze logistics performance metrics such as delivery timelines, cost per trip, and vendor performance.
Prepare and manage logistics budgets for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Lead and supervise logistics staff, including drivers and warehouse personnel.
Deploy technology for real-time tracking, route optimization, and improved logistics visibility.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree an advantage).
5–7 years of proven logistics management experience, preferably in real estate, construction, or infrastructure.
Strong understanding of construction supply chains, materials handling, and project site delivery.
Proficiency in logistics/fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and vendor negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Financial acumen for budget control and cost efficiency.
Attention to detail, process improvement, and safety compliance.
