Job Description
The Locum Study Midwife will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Maternal Ultrasound Observational Study for Machine Learning Model Training (AI US Scan study). Based at Kawempe National Referral Hospital, the role involves screening potential participants, obtaining informed consent, enrolment, conducting novice ultrasound scans, and ensuring proper documentation and sample collection. The midwife will also support routine quality checks and may be required to assist in providing care to non-study patients where feasible.

How to Apply
Screen potential study participants attending the hospital
Enrol and register eligible participants per protocol
Obtain and document informed consent
Collect samples for study-specific lab tests
Perform ultrasound scans categorized as “Novice”
Participate in QA/QC of study documentation
Support facility staff and provide general care when required
Perform other study-related tasks as delegated by the supervisor
Diploma in Midwifery
Valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
Fully registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
Proficient in midwifery clinical practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Language proficiency in English; knowledge of Luganda is desirable
Good organizational and ICT skills
Interest in digital health technologies is a plus
