Position Overview
NAWEC is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy IT/Communications Officer to lead our digital communication and IT operations. This role is key to maintaining our IT infrastructure, enhancing our digital presence, and ensuring effective engagement with stakeholders, partners, and the community.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain IT systems, hardware, and software at the Centre.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for staff on all ICT-related issues.
Ensure data security, system backups, and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Support maintenance and updates of electronic health records systems and digital databases.
Manage and grow NAWEC’s social media platforms and website.
Create and publish engaging content for newsletters, blogs, and community updates.
Design visual communication materials including posters, flyers, and IEC tools.
Document events and activities through photography, videography, and storytelling.
Build relationships with local media outlets and key community influencers to amplify NAWEC’s visibility.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems & Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, digital communications, or a related role. (Experience in the NGO or health sector is a plus.)
Strong knowledge of social media management, website content updates, and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
Solid understanding of ICT systems, basic networking, and troubleshooting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Photography and video editing experience is an added advantage.
