About the Role
DHL Supply Chain Uganda is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to ensure inventory accuracy and process compliance within our warehouse operations. The role involves monitoring stock levels, validating inventory transactions, identifying discrepancies between physical and system stock, and ensuring alignment with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will work closely with warehouse teams and customers to improve inventory integrity and efficiency.

How to Apply
Conduct regular spot checks to validate physical stock accuracy by location.
Reconcile physical stock with system records daily, weekly, and monthly; ensure timely closure of variances.
Alert warehouse management to any deviations from SOPs and recommend corrective measures.
Develop and recommend process improvements to streamline inventory operations.
Ensure warehouse staff adhere to stock count procedures and follow documented processes.
Coordinate and lead monthly stock counts with customers, ensuring results are signed off and discrepancies resolved promptly.
Verify that system transactions align with source documents; ensure all documents are properly filed and archived.
Generate and submit daily stock movement reports, reconciling data between customer systems (e.g., Oracle, JDA) and internal warehouse systems.
Establish tracking tools for warehouse errors and report trends to the Site Lead for further action.
Analyze and explain inventory shrinkage, whether from system or operational causes.
Enforce proper returns management procedures and escalate non-compliance to the Site Lead.
Monitor and report on near-expiry inventory, sharing risks with the Operations Manager/Site Lead.
Ensure non-conforming stock is securely stored in blocked locations, both physically and in the system, and only released upon authorized approval.
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or Finance.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse or inventory operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role—preferably in the technology or energy sector.
Certificate or diploma in Inventory Management required.
Professional certification in auditing or accounting is an added advantage.
Experience working with warehouse systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JDA) is preferred.
