Job Description
The OHCHR Innovation & Analytics Hub internship offers opportunities for interns to support projects involving artificial intelligence, risk analysis, geospatial analytics, digital tools, and strategic coordination. The internship lasts between 3 to 6 months and provides flexibility in terms of start dates and working arrangements (in-person or remote). Interns will be assigned to one of four workstreams: Strategic Coordination and Planning; Digital Technology, Data and Innovation; Risk Analysis and Early Warning; or Global Analytics and Field Support. Each workstream contributes to strengthening human rights monitoring, enhancing data systems, and improving institutional responses to emerging global risks.

How to Apply
Workstream 1: Strategic Coordination and Planning
Organize meetings, workshops, and roundtables.
Draft outreach materials and reports.
Track strategic initiatives and contribute to internal networks.
Workstream 2: Digital Technology, Data and Innovation
Support digital transformation initiatives and platform development.
Design and implement analytics tools and dashboards.
Provide technical assistance and training.
Workstream 3: Risk Analysis and Early Warning
Monitor human rights risks and draft assessment reports.
Support coordination for early warning activities.
Prepare presentations for UN processes.
Workstream 4: Global Analytics and Field Support
Analyze and visualize field data.
Develop decision-making dashboards.
Share best practices and train field staff.
Academic Requirements:
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or postgraduate (Master’s or PhD) program.
Final-year students in a first degree (Bachelor’s) may also apply.
Preferred Fields of Study by Workstream:
Workstream 1: Political Science, Communications, Public Administration, Business Management
Workstream 2: Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Human Rights Statistics
Workstream 3: International Relations, Law, Political Science, Social Sciences
Workstream 4: International Development, Geography, Data Science, Political Science
Desirable Skills:
Strong analytical, coordination, communication, or data visualization skills depending on the selected workstream.
Understanding of digital technologies, human rights principles, and data analytics is a plus.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of other UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
Other Notes:
Internships are unpaid.
Interns must arrange their own visa, travel, and accommodation.
In-person internships are encouraged, but remote options are possible.
Applicants must not be closely related to a UNFPA staff member.
