Job Description

The Human Resource Manager will provide leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of human resource policies, programs, and practices at UMMA. The position involves handling recruitment and selection, developing job descriptions, administering employee benefits, overseeing payroll, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and institutional policies. The manager will also assess training needs, support employee growth, monitor performance, and provide strategic HR input to management. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate employee records, preparing HR reports, and leading HR strategic planning initiatives to anticipate and address workforce needs.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

  • At least four (4) years of progressive HR experience.

  • Certifications such as CHRP or other recognized professional HR certifications highly preferred.

  • Leadership certification required.

  • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management systems.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic academic environment.
