Job Purpose
The Head of Treasury is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the Bank’s balance sheet, liquidity, and market risk exposures. This role ensures optimal asset and liability management (ALM), maximizes profitability through prudent investment decisions, and maintains full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The position plays a pivotal role in supporting business growth and acts as a key advisor to senior management and the Board on treasury-related matters.

How to Apply
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR).
Maintain full adherence to the Financial Institutions Act and all applicable banking regulations.
Oversee the development and execution of risk mitigation strategies for liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks.
Identify and assess market risks and recommend appropriate risk management strategies to ALCO and executive management.
Strategic Treasury Management
Lead the formulation and execution of treasury strategies to support business growth and financial stability.
Provide strategic leadership to the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) function and serve as a key member of ALCO.
Monitor asset-liability mismatches and proactively manage exposures to interest rate, currency, and liquidity risks.
Develop and implement funding strategies to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs.
Liquidity & Investment Management
Oversee daily liquidity management to ensure the Bank meets its obligations efficiently.
Monitor and manage the Bank’s investment portfolio in line with risk appetite and return expectations.
Manage customer deposits and ensure optimal pricing strategies to support profitability and market competitiveness.
Advisory & Relationship Management
Provide expert recommendations to senior management and the Board on investment decisions, market conditions, and treasury exposures.
Maintain strong relationships with trading counterparties, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.
Support business units in structuring treasury solutions and building customer relationships to enhance value.
Governance & ALCO Participation
Drive effective decision-making in ALCO meetings through preparation and presentation of actionable insights and reports.
Ensure treasury practices align with the Bank’s internal policies, risk appetite, and strategic objectives.
Escalate any material breaches or exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.
Financial Responsibility
Accountable for regulatory compliance to avoid any fines, penalties, or reputational risk related to treasury operations.
Ensure the Treasury function contributes positively to the Bank’s income and capital preservation.

Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Commerce, Finance, or Business Administration.
ACI Dealing Certificate is mandatory.
Master’s degree in Finance or a related field is a strong advantage.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Treasury operations or a related function within the banking sector.
Proven expertise in Asset & Liability Management (ALM), liquidity management, and treasury trading.
In-depth understanding of local and international financial markets.
Strong knowledge of banking and treasury products, including money markets, FX, and fixed income instruments.
Business development experience in a banking or treasury environment is an added advantage.
