Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s local content strategy, ensuring compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, and maintaining productive relationships with relevant government agencies, especially the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). They will review regulations, support audit processes, lead industry engagements, and provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders regarding local content practices. The position also involves coordinating audits, statutory reports, and monitoring initiatives to enhance the company’s compliance posture and stakeholder relationships.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and propose local content strategy aligned with company objectives
Maintain compliance with the NOGICD Act and other relevant regulations
Liaise with NCDMB and OPTS member companies to resolve local content issues
Represent the company at government engagements and industry events
Review proposed government guidelines and suggest industry best practices
Coordinate statutory reporting, including contract reports and procurement forecasts
Participate in audits, industry monitoring, and joint initiatives led by NCDMB
Promote internal awareness of local content obligations and performance
Ensure adherence to HSE standards and reporting of safety-related incidents
Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships across departments and government entities
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum of 12 years of cross-functional experience in the oil and gas sector
In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian Content Act and its application
Strong communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership
Familiarity with the E&P sector and regulatory compliance frameworks
Ability to manage sensitive information and work effectively under pressure
High integrity, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills
