Group Financial Controller Job at Numida

Job Description
The Group Financial Controller is a senior leadership role responsible for the integrity of Numida's financial reporting across all operating entities. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller owns the consolidation of group accounts, leads the annual audit process, and ensures that financial controls, policies, and statutory obligations are consistently upheld across every market Numida operates in.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Own the preparation and review of consolidated group financial statements across all operating entities, in compliance with IFRS
- Lead intercompany eliminations, minority interest calculations, and currency translation adjustments across multi-jurisdiction entities
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and board-level financial reports
- Drive a rigorous and well-controlled month-end and year-end close process across all entities
- Oversee the accounting and valuation of the loan book, including loan origination, repayments, interest income accruals, and fee recognition in accordance with IFRS 9
- Manage Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisioning models, ensuring appropriate staging and impairment calculations across the portfolio
- Ensure accurate daily reconciliation of the lending book against core systems, bank statements, and the general ledger
- Work closely with the Risk and Credit teams to ensure write-off policies, collections accounting, and recoveries are accurately reflected in the financials
- Lead the annual statutory audit process end-to-end across all group entities, serving as the primary point of contact for group and local auditors
- Prepare and review audit-ready financial statements, notes, and supporting schedules; manage audit timelines and resolve auditor queries efficiently
- Ensure all statutory filings, tax returns, and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and on time across all jurisdictions
- Monitor changes in local accounting standards and regulatory requirements across Numida's operating markets, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Design, implement, and continuously strengthen the group's internal control framework across financial reporting, treasury, and credit operations
- Maintain group-wide accounting policies that are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with IFRS; enforce adherence across all entities and finance teams
- Oversee accounts payable, treasury, and cash management functions, ensuring segregation of duties and appropriate authorisation frameworks
- Identify, escalate, and remediate control weaknesses; drive a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement across the group finance function
- Provide financial oversight and technical accounting support to country finance leads across Numida's operating markets
- Manage multi-currency reporting, FX exposure monitoring, and bank reconciliations across all operating entity accounts
- Partner with the CFO on financial planning, investor reporting, and board presentations; support the development and improvement of financial systems and reporting infrastructure
- On-time delivery of consolidated group financial statements and board reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Accuracy and completeness of the group consolidation, with zero material misstatements in audited financial statements
- Successful completion of annual statuto
