Job Description
This graduate program is designed for individuals interested in applying their academic knowledge to real-world HVAC and mechanical engineering challenges. The graduate will collaborate with experienced engineers on designing and analyzing HVAC systems, assist in developing detailed engineering drawings, contribute to prototyping and testing, and help troubleshoot mechanical systems. The program emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and industry networking opportunities. The contract begins on 1 February 2026 and runs for 18 months, based at Teraco’s Isando office in Gauteng.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior engineers on design and analysis of HVAC systems.
Assist in preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Contribute to prototype development and mechanical system testing.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
Support evaluation of materials and components for system design.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Final year student or graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with an HVAC focus.
Strong understanding of core engineering principles and HVAC concepts.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Experience with prototyping and system testing.
Understanding of industry standards and HVAC regulations.
