Job Description
The General Manager – Supply Chain & Procurement will lead a South African-based team in delivering procurement solutions aligned with global strategy. The incumbent will supervise five direct reports (two in procurement and three in the BBBEE space), oversee end-to-end procurement operations, and implement business process improvements. Responsibilities include contract negotiation, development of procurement strategies, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with transformation and equity policies. The role also involves guiding adoption of best practices, risk mitigation, and maintaining supplier relationships to support manufacturing and operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of 5 staff members in procurement and BBBEE functions
Oversee procurement operations and strategy implementation across the region
Drive business process improvements and develop tools, training, and resources
Conduct negotiations and manage contracts and supplier relationships
Ensure successful execution of BBBEE and transformation programs
Collaborate with senior stakeholders and business partners to align goals
Support manufacturing and supply chain operations with procurement solutions
Provide data-driven insights, analytics, and reporting to senior management
Monitor cost-benefit metrics and apply category management principles
Ensure compliance with internal policies and South African employment equity standards

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
Strong leadership and team supervision skills
Understanding of BBBEE implementation and compliance
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred:
Experience in manufacturing and supply chain environments
Knowledge in data analytics and performance reporting
Familiarity with process improvement and category management
Ability to influence across matrix and cross-functional teams
Proficiency in cost-benefit analysis and procurement systems
Willingness to travel up to 25%
