Job Description

Position: Fleet Manager
Organization: Kijani Forestry

Location: Gulu, Northern Uganda
At Kijani Forestry, we work with tens of thousands of farmers to restore forests, enhance livelihoods, and protect the environment. Our operations rely heavily on a diverse and dynamic fleet — including motorcycles, vehicles, and bicycles — to deliver impact across Northern Uganda.

We’re seeking a Fleet Manager to lead and optimize our fleet operations. This role demands strategic oversight, operational excellence, and a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and long-term planning.

Reports To:

Logistics Director

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development for all fleet operations.

  • Manage the acquisition, allocation, and lifecycle of vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles.

  • Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality or service.

  • Deploy and oversee fleet monitoring systems and use performance analytics to drive improvements.

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers; ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety standards.

  • Supervise and mentor the fleet team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee maintenance schedules, preventative care, and rapid response to incidents or breakdowns.

  • Provide regular reports on key fleet metrics, trends, and improvement strategies to senior leadership.

Core Values

At Kijani, we live by our values. We’re looking for someone who embodies them:

  • Get Things Done – We prioritize action and results.

  • Grow or Die – We are committed to continuous improvement.

  • Strive for Greatness Always – Excellence is our standard, not a one-time act.

  • Lead Through Service – No task is beneath anyone; we lead by doing.

  • Do the Right Thing, Even When No One Is Watching – Integrity is non-negotiable.

If these values don't resonate with you, we’re probably not the right fit. If they do — we want to hear from you!
