Job Title: Finance Operations Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Operations Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving the company’s financial operations and processes. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting day-to-day accounting activities, and providing insights that contribute to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Processing & Transactions:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage invoice processing, verification, and payment cycles.
Reconcile bank statements and company credit card transactions.
Assist in payroll processing and related reconciliations.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts and board reports.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and operational procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
Ensure all financial operations comply with company policies and relevant Ugandan statutory regulations.
Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting Support:
Support the General Manager in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
Track and report on budget-to-actual performance, investigating and explaining significant variances.
Data Management:
Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) at least at Level II is highly preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar finance operations, accounting, or financial analysis role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial data and generate meaningful insights.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in processing financial information.
Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams.
Integrity: High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information.
