Job Description
The Finance Officer will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the Bank’s financial statements, producing daily management accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role includes preparing dashboards, conducting analytical reviews, generating reconciliation schedules, and managing reporting tasks such as fixed asset depreciation, accruals, and prepayment amortizations. The role also involves collaborating with auditors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting financial performance evaluations using industry-standard benchmarks and ratios.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual financial statements.
Generate daily management accounts and financial dashboards.
Ensure accurate and complete entries in the accounting system.
Prepare industry comparative reports and variance analyses.
Produce segment-based deposit and bank reconciliation reports.
Conduct analytical reviews using financial performance ratios.
Manage month-end reporting including accruals and depreciation.
Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
Support external audit processes and respond to audit requirements.
Analyze cost structures and ensure budgetary control.
Perform general ledger maintenance and reviews.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management within the Financial Services Industry.
Must possess a professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIBN, or CFA.
Strong understanding of mortgage banking operations and financial reporting standards.
Proficient knowledge of tax regulations, risk management, and audit processes.
Familiarity with banking regulatory guidelines and financial analysis tools.
