Finance Officer Job at Uganda Biodiversity Trust Fund (UBF)
Uganda Biodiversity Trust Fund (UBF)
Job Description
To provide financial management support, monitoring and coordination of UBF activities, ensuring compliance with UBF policies and procedures, donor regulations, applicable accounting standards and local laws.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage cash flow, bank accounts, FX transactions and petty cash.
- Lead budgeting and budget control, including annual budgeting and consolidated forecasts.
- Review payments (within limits), ensure strong financial controls and accurate documentation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records: coding, reconciliations, depreciation and period adjustments.
- Manage the fixed assets register, insurance and support stocktaking/verification.
- Prepare management accounts, quarterly expenditure reports and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax and statutory deductions/remittances.
- Coordinate audit requirements and implement audit recommendations.
- Maintain accounting systems, backups and data integrity.
- Support grants management: budget set-up, tracking, burn-rate monitoring, donor compliance, donor reporting and grant close out.
- Provide financial management support to programs/ partners.
